Changes to Ads

We have changed over our ad server to Google Doubleclick from Openx. Openx is a good piece of open-source software but we found that Doubleclick was better for what we wanted.

What have been doing on the site.

Hi

The site launch went well. The news section will be launching at 4pm (GMT) tomorrow (23.05.2011). This will have Technology news on it. We are going to put in a server status page you will be able to see the status of the web-server and also our backup server. We also have a backup server so if the web server that hosts us goes offline we can keep the Newson & Co site online.

Sorry if recently you have gone onto Newson & Co to find news and have not been able to this is because we are getting ready for the offical launch of the site on the 21-05-2011. The news section will then be up and running and will be on one site and not 2 seperate parts to Newson & Co. We will keeep you updated on when and what time the launch will be. See you all then.

Coming soon Newson & Co Forum

Coming soon to Newson & Co there will be a forum where you can chat about what ever you want. Within reason as long as it is not rude our offensive and is not pornographic. We have desided to go with phpbb as we think that this will ofther the best forum solution for us and best of all it is free and open-source.

Would you like to help us post news stories on our website. You don't even need to know how to use wordpress.  Please E-mail us at contact@newsonandco.co.uk saying that you would like to join the team to put news stories on our website. For every 1,000 views for all of the news stories you have writen news storeys get you will get 10p but as the site gets more popular this could go up. That does not sound allot because we are not a news publishing website, we are like a place for you to be creative with your writing and if you would like to work in journalism you have some where to practise this. You will be responsible for any tax charges you will incur. We only pay out throw PayPal.

The site is nearly ready when it is www.newsonandco.co.uk will redirect to www.newsonandco.co.uk/en this should happen next weekend. For the moment there will be only news on the website in the near future there will be games posted on there as well. If you would like to use our RSS feeds for our News please email us at contact@newsonandco.co.uk we do not charge for this at the moment but in the near future we might.

Thanks for checking back. We have made some progress in updating our site design. We are still trying to find the most suitable CMS (Content Management System). There will be ads on the site in the near future as this is how we can keep the site going. we are changing the site around

We are currently changing the site around at www.newsonandco.co.uk. This means that there will be no news our games added to any of the website our parts of the website. We hope that this will be complete by next week. We will keep you updated on our blog so kepp on ckeacking back.
